Civics is the study of how government works. In this course, students will explore the history, development, and creation of the US Constitution - one of the most remarkable safeguards of liberty ever written. Students will study the structure of checks and balances, federal and state authority, and the role of the electoral college. Through reading and discussion students will develop an understanding of their rights and responsibilities as a citizen of the republic.
